Aart de Heer — magician

Aart de Heer (29 July 1949), better known by his stage name André du Lord, is a Dutch magician and actor. As a half-brother of Bas van Toor and Aad van Toor — better known as Bassie and Adriaan — he was for years connected to one of the most popular family shows in the Netherlands.

From professional football to magic

Before becoming a magician, De Heer had a career as a professional footballer at Fortuna Vlaardingen. He then shifted his ambitions to the stage and the art of magic.

In 1976 he was named Dutch champion by the Dutch Magic Union — the crowning achievement of his work as a magician.

Performing with Bassie and Adriaan

In the late 1970s De Heer regularly appeared as a guest during performances by Bassie and Adriaan, among other things with his cheetah Lisa. He was also ringmaster in Circus Bassie en Adriaan, in which he performed as a magician.

As André du Lord he featured in the television series 'Bassie & Adriaan: Het Geheim van de Sleutel' and 'Bassie & Adriaan: De Diamant', and in the early 1990s he once again took to the stage with the duo in the Lachspektakelshow.

Aart de Heer brought magic to a broad family audience and combined it with humour and spectacle. That same wish to let people of all ages enjoy magic is also central to Sudesh Roman.
